Logan River - July 24, 2013

Date: July 24, 2013
Time of day: Mid morning to mid afternoon
Locations: We started higher up on the river and worked our way down, trying three spots.
Flies: We fished terrestrials (hoppers and ants,) small dry-flies and nymphs, and ended the day with soft hackles.

Location one: Near the Utah State University Forestry Field Station. We saw some large trout hiding in the under cut banks.

Location two was a little further down the canyon, There was a nice pool that looked like there should be some fish there but we saw nothing.

Location three was a bountiful spot, I tried some bead headed nymph patterns, had some takes but could not hook or land anything.

The last spot is where we had some action was upstream of the Right-Hand Fork turn off. Eric suggested swinging a soft hackle (partridge and orange) we had lots of bits and landed one nice cutthroat.
