August 14-16th the Mortensen's and Gourley's headed to Fish Lake for some family fishing fun. We stayed in, "rustic" cabins that were a little too rustic for the ladies when the bats came out one night! This was Declan's first fishing trip. It was the first time me and Mortensen caught perch on a fly rod, and the first perch fishing for the kids. They had plenty of practice catching them, while me and Mortensen got more than enough practice cleaning them. Melanie even got in on the fish cleaning action! It was a lot of work, but it produced an excellent fish fry! We managed to catch some rainbows with a discovery Mortensen made of twilight subsurface fishing in 90 feet of water: who knew. The best part of the whole trip was when Mortensen landed two of his favorite fish to catch in Utah: White Fish! Enjoy the GoPro video below showcasing those White Fish landings! What a fun time!
