Running Against the Strawberry Wind

May 10th, 2014 we took the much anticipated trip to Strawberry to fish as the ice was receding from the shore. Turns out, there was just one small problem:  THERE WAS NO ICE!  Apparently, the Department of Wasted Resources (DWR) has a very loose definition of "receding ice".  Despite that, the cold wind, and the threat of rain/snow, we had fun in the beautiful outdoors.  We even caught fish.  Mortensen landed a nice 15" Cutthroat.  There were two mini-Mortensen's with us this time as well.  Adeline and Isaac joined this expedition.  Isaac had a fish on, but he escaped.  He also tested his arm strength tossing rocks in the lake, right by Dad!  Adeline hunted down numerous crayfish exoskeletons between snaking on cookies and dried mangoes.  I ran the GoPro camera, but never seemed to get the timing just right, even for the three fish I hooked, but couldn't land.
